During the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the superb sports commentaries were full of Chinese romance, attracting attention of netizens.

To Yang Qian:

除却君身三重雪，天下谁人配白衣。

After a fierce competition, shooter Yang Qian, an athlete of generation Z, claimed the first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics with a victory in women's 10m air rifle on July 24.

We praised her calm bravery on the field, and we were also fond of her ingenuous and adorable style. She represents a promising future.

To Sun Yiwen who claimed a gold medal in women's  fencing individual:

一剑光寒定九州。

Sun Yiwen wins the first gold medal of women's fencing individual in Chinese history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games on July 25.

Leading by only one point in the last 12 seconds, Sun Yiwen outplayed the opponent with slick techniques and a good mentality. The last point of her game rewrites the history of the Chinese fencing team and makes her dream to be a cornerstone member of the team, come true.

"When I had to face the overtime, I told myself it's OK and I could make the match-winning point," said Sun. "I don't think too much about the results, and I just do as I have practiced so many times."

To Chen Yuxi and Zhang Jiaqi who dominated the women's synchronized diving 10m platform:

雏凤清于老凤声。 

Chen Yuxi and Zhang Jiaqi dominated the women's synchronized diving 10m platform, winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Summer Games on July 27.

Although both are generation Z (Chen is 15 and Zhang is 17), they continue writing the legend of Chinese diving.

"We have nothing to lose, and we are brave enough to face any challenges." They did achieve their goals and won applause from all over the world.

To Rowing — Women's Quadruple Sculls:

一棹逍遥天地间。 

The Chinese rowers safely bagged the women's quadruple sculls gold medal with a world best time of 6 minutes and 5.13 seconds on July 28.

Chen Yunxia, Zhang Ling, Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong established a convincing lead before the final 500m and updated its Olympic best time set on home soil at the 2008 Olympic games. They achieved first place thanks to their perseverance, determination,  confidence in each other, and the pursuit of the sport.

To Pang Wei and Jiang Ranxin:

一个是老骥伏枥志在千里，一个是旭日东升未来可期。

One is like an old steed that lies in the stable yet still aspires to gallop thousands of miles.

The other one is like the sunrise whose future is promising.

Pang Wei and Jiang Ranxin won the 10m air pistol mixed team gold medal on July 27.

"We are confident. For me, I see the first Olympic Games as a chance to develop myself, so I don't feel much pressure," said 21-year-old Jiang. Pang, who referred to Jiang as"niece" because he is 14 years older than Jiang, said he had firm belief in his partner. "We support and trust each other. Even before the match I knew she would be doing great, so I told myself I couldn't be too bad," said Pang.

To Ma Long:

一个时代的开启不会轻易落下帷幕。漂亮的离场并不只是在巅峰退役，也有绝地求生，也有从零开始。你永远不要低估一颗冠军的心。
The beginning of an era will not end easily. Departure not only means retirement at the top, but also to fight the impasse and start from the scratch. You should never underestimate the heart of a champion.

Ma Long won the gold medal in the men's singles final of the table tennis competition against his teammate Fan Zhendong on July 30.

Against ages, against injuries, against all odds, Ma Long finally made it. "Never underestimate the heart of a champion." Former Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich's famous quote has turned out to be true once again.

Ma, captain of the all-leading Chinese table tennis team, won back-to-back Olympic titles in the men's singles event after overcoming Fan Zhendong, also from China, on Friday. It was a feat that no male player has ever achieved before. "First, I have to keep a winning mentality. This is the most precious thing which is also the reason why this team offers huge support to me. I think I can continue to play and compete with those rivals," he said.

To Fan Zhendong:

尽管今天依旧没能翻越马龙这座高山，但是也请樊振东回头望望，这一路走来，都是风景。
Fan, although you didn't defeat Ma Long, who claimed gold medal in the competition, please look back and you'll see the sceneries along the way. 

Fan claimed the silver medal in the men's singles final of the table tennis.

He showed the audience his consummate skill and imperturbable mentality. Ma Long said the future of Chinese table tennis belongs to Fan.

To Sun Yingsha:

少年负壮气，奋烈自有时。 

Sun Yingsha claimed the silver medal in the women's singles table tennis on July 26.

To Xiao Ruoteng:

胸有惊雷而面如平湖。

Chinese gymnast Xiao Ruoteng compared himself to a vinyl record.

The 25-year-old man from China's capital Beijing has suffered from serious shoulder injuries which prevented him from practicing difficult movements, and he has spent a lot of time receiving medical treatment. Before the Tokyo Olympics, he received cortisone shots. "The most important occasion is coming. I will show the world the best of me," said Xiao.
