北极冰川融化，美国亿万富翁却组团去“挖矿”……

持续高温下，格陵兰岛冰川正在加速融化。

根据美国国家冰雪数据中心公布的数据显示，仅2022年7月15日至17日短短几天，格陵兰岛每天的融冰量就高达60亿吨，可以填满720万个奥林匹克标准的游泳池。

那些冰封了千百年的土地，正在一点点被暴露出来，一并暴露的还有尘封的地下矿藏。

据CNN报道，美国亿万富翁们组团前往格陵兰岛挖矿，希望能从中分一杯羹。

A band of billionaires, including Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates, among others, is betting that below the surface of the hills and valleys on Greenland's Disko Island and Nuussuaq Peninsula there are enough critical minerals to power hundreds of millions of electric vehicles.

包括杰夫·贝索斯、迈克尔·布隆伯格和比尔·盖茨等在内的一群亿万富翁正在打赌下注，在格陵兰岛迪斯科岛和努苏亚克半岛的丘陵和山谷之下，有藏着大量关键矿物足够为数亿辆电动汽车提供动力。

"Fully electrifying the global economy is our generation's greatest challenge," the KoBold spokesperson said. "Partnering with this broad set of world-class investors will accelerate our efforts to find the key materials for the EV revolution."

目前，在Kobold和Blujay寻找埋藏宝藏的地点，30名地质学家、地球物理学家、厨师、飞行员和机械师安营扎寨。

Thirty geologists, geophysicists, cooks, pilots and mechanics are camped at the site where Kobold and Blujay are searching for the buried treasure.

而格陵兰当地政府已经在没有冰雪覆盖的地区展开了资源评估工作，认为格陵兰岛有潜力开发矿产资源，推进国家经济多元化发展。

对矿产资源开发可能存在的隐患，当地政府一位官员表示，政府支持负责、可持续和具有经济效益的矿产开发方式。

专家：潜在的气候危机不容忽视

专家们担心，随着格陵兰岛的冰川融化，人们争先恐后地开发矿产资源，格陵兰岛的自然环境很可能受到威胁。

科学家们对于海平面上升的问题也颇感担忧。

"The northern melt this past week is not normal, looking at 30 to 40 years of climate averages," said Ted Scambos, a senior research scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado. "But melting has been on the increase, and this event was a spike in melt."

早在2019年，由于春季罕见的炎热天气加上热浪的袭击，格陵兰岛融冰量就达到了破纪录的5320亿吨，全球海平面升高了1.5毫米，科学家担心冰雪加速融化的情况是否会再次上演。

如果格陵兰岛的冰雪全部融化，全球海平面将会上升7.5米。

Each summer, scientists worry that they will see a repeat of the record melting that occurred in 2019, when 532 billion tons of ice flowed out into the sea.

自从20世纪80年代以来，格陵兰岛气温每10年增加1.5华氏度左右，是全球变暖速度的4倍，很可能进一步加剧全球变暖危机。
