武汉军运会：创军人荣耀 筑世界和平

The 7th Military World Games is scheduled to be held from October 18 to 27 in central China's Wuhan city. Thus, the event is also known as the Wuhan Military World Games. The event is the top sports gala for the world's military personnel. Organized by the International Military Sports Council every four years, it is widely recognized as the "Military Olympics." 

第七届世界军人运动会定于2019年10月18日至27日在中国武汉举行，因此也称武汉军运会。世界军人运动会是全球军人最高规格的大型综合性运动会，由国际军事体育理事会主办，每四年举办一届，被誉为“军人奥运会”。

The Wuhan session is the first comprehensive international military competition hosted by China. It is also the largest international sports event hosted by the country after the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Three records have been set so far. Firstly, it comprises 329 competitive events of 27 categories, which is the largest number in the Games' history. Secondly, all of them will be hosted in one city, which has never happened in previous sessions. Thirdly, an athletes' village was constructed especially for the occasion, and this is also a first for the Games.

武汉军运会是中国第一次承办综合性国际军事赛事，也是继北京奥运会后，中国举办的规模最大的国际体育盛会。它创下了三项历史：共设置27个大项、329个小项，项目数量创历届军运会之最；首次在一个城市集中举办所有比赛，也是首次为军运会新建运动员村。

The theme "Military Glory, World Peace" can be felt in every detail of the Games. The medal, known as the "Star of Peace and Friendship," combines military and Chinese cultural elements, and highlights the spirit of sport. The trophy named "Soaring" is designed in the shape of a dove of peace. It implies the determination of safeguarding world peace and the athletes' constant pursuit to be higher, faster and stronger. 

武汉军运会也在细节中体现着“创军人荣耀，筑世界和平”的主题。军运会奖牌“和平友谊之星”，融入了军事特色、体育精神和中国元素；和平鸽造型的奖杯“腾飞”，既体现“共筑世界和平”之意，也寓意运动员拼搏、向上的精神。

Another special feature is the high-tech application. All the 35 venues are covered by the 5G network, and all events are broadcast live via 5G. The host city Wuhan, with many lakes, is in the middle reaches of the world's third longest Yangtze River. The unique geographical location provides the Games with a picturesque site for competition. 

“科技”也成为了本次赛事的标签：5G网络已经覆盖了军运会全部的35座场馆，赛事直播将通过5G传输。本届军运会主办城市武汉地处世界第三大河长江的中游，城内湖泊星罗棋布，得天独厚的地理优势为军运会提供了秀美的山水赛场。

Wuhan is also a city of harmony and civility. Currently, it has over 1.45 million registered volunteers, with the number of those working for the Games surpassing 26,000, and those providing services in key areas around the city surpassing 210,000, ensuring that Wuhan will prove to be a polite and hospitable city wherever you go. What's noteworthy is that, to ensure the smooth-running of the Games, the city has built or renovated 35 venues on the two sides of the Yangtze River. They will be used by schools or open to the public after the Games to avoid wasting resources.

武汉同样也是一座和谐与文明的城市。目前，武汉注册志愿者已超过145万，军运会赛会志愿者达2.6万名、城市志愿者达21万余名，城市的每一处都跳动着文明的火花。更值得一提的是，为保障军运会顺利举办，武汉在长江两岸新建、改造35座军运会场馆，这些场馆赛后将用于学校教学和开放供市民使用，避免资源浪费。

The exciting, exceptional and outstanding Military World Games will present to the world a central Chinese city that is pursuing modernization, internationalization and ecological progress. In the future, Wuhan will move even closer to international stage in a manner that is even more steady, open and self-confident.

一场精彩、非凡、卓越的军运会，将展示一座正奔向现代化、国际化、生态化的中国中部城市的风采，武汉将以更加从容、开放、自信的姿态走向世界大舞台。
