2011年，庄辉首度走进了祁连山，且多次游历于此直到他个人与风景形成某种关系使得不同的艺术观点得以表达。由此，常青画廊以“祁连山系”命名，通过个展首次全面呈现了艺术家实现关于山水风景的长期艺术计划的第一步。通过四年对祁连山地区的观察与体验，庄辉逐渐与这片在文化上哺育他，并在他的意识中沉睡多年的土地建立起了某种个人关系。过往作品的多样性往往让人忽略了他的几乎所有创作背后都有一种自传元素在驱动。此次调用童年所见的山水也许是一种新的尝试——在他个人的社会经历与一个更大的文化传统之间搭建自然的通道，或者将他的集体存在转化为某种更为私人，更为持久的东西。

Zhuang Hui started visiting the Qilian Mountains in 2011. During his journeys, he formed a personal relationship with the landscape, which helped him to find ways of expression through different artistic ideas. Galleria Continua proudly holds the first solo show for Zhuang Hui in our Beijing space, in order to present the first step in artist's long-term project engaging ideas of landscape which is titled simply "Qilian Range". By spending four years simply observing and experiencing the Qilian landscape, Zhuang is exploring a personal connection with a part of his cultural heritage that has perhaps been lying dormant. The great variety of Zhuang’s past work hides the fact that nearly everything he makes has an autobiographical element driving it. His engagement with the landscape of his childhood is perhaps an attempt to create a natural channel between his social past with a larger cultural past, or rather, to transform his collective existence into something more personal and enduring.
