Eighteen doctorate degree holders reached cooperation agreements with 16 enterprises in Ningbo on July 7, according to local media reports.
The agreements were signed at a conference aimed at helping local enterprises attract high-profile talents. The two-day event was attended by 480 doctoral students from universities including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Koyto University as well as 180 companies.
Ningbo has in recent years made significant progress in expanding its talent pool. The city currently has 310 post-doctoral workstations that are staffed by more than 1,430 post-doctoral members. The city has the most newly-built post-doctoral workstations above the provincial level for three consecutive years in the province, according to official data from the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.
More than 500 technologies developed by these workstations have been awarded science and technology awards that are provincial level or above. These workstations have also obtained authorization for 8,172 patents in key fields such as intelligent manufacturing and new materials.

Ningbo and Zhoushan, both of which are home to the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the world's largest port by cargo throughput volume, were ranked 10th among global shipping hubs in terms of comprehensive strength, according to the Xinhua-Baltic ISCD Index 2022.
This is the second time the two cities in East China's Zhejiang province have been ranked 10th following the first time in the previous year.
The index, which is now in its ninth edition, provides an annual independent ranking of the performance of the world's largest cities that offer port and shipping business services. Sampled cities are evaluated based on port conditions, shipping services, and comprehensive environment.
In 2021, Ningbo Zhoushan Port handled 1.22 billion metric tons of cargo, up 4.4 percent year-on-year and topping the global rankings for the 13th straight year. The port's container throughput reached 31.08 million TEUs, up 8.2 percent year-on-year, and was ranked third globally.
根据《新华·波罗的海国际航运中心发展指数报告（2022）》显示，宁波-舟山港是全球货运吞吐量第一的港口，宁波和舟山的综合实力位居全球航运枢纽第10位。

The fourth China Industrial Internet Contest was recently launched in Ningbo's Haishu district, local media reported.
This is the first time the contest has been held outside of Hangzhou, the capital city of East China's Zhejiang province.
Ningbo's Haishu district has been chosen as the host venue primarily due to its thriving industrial internet sector, said a local official. The district is currently home to several major enterprises related to the industry, including Zhejiang Lanzhuo Industrial Internet Information Technology Co Ltd, Zhejiang Guoli Security Technology Co Ltd, Alibaba Group, as well as research platforms like Ningbo Industrial Internet Research Institute.
第四届中国工业互联网大赛近日在宁波海曙区启动。
这是该赛事首次在中国东部浙江省省会杭州市以外的地区举行。
一位海曙当地官员表示，宁波海曙区之所以被选为主办场地，主要是因为其工业互联网领域的蓬勃发展。园区目前入驻了浙江蓝卓、国利网安、宁波阿里中心等多家产工业互联网领军企业，以及宁波工业互联网研究院等研究平台。

The Samaranch Global Sailing Fund was launched in Ningbo on July 8, local media reported.
Approved by the Samaranch Foundation, the fund will mainly be used to promote the Olympic ideal, boost sports culture development in China, enhance global exchanges of sports culture as well as facilitate the popularization and development of the sailing around the world.
Ningbo has over the past few years held several high-profile sailing events such as the National Youth Sailing Championships and the National Funboard Championships.Two national sailing bases have been built around the city's Dongqian Lake. The Asian Games Sailing Center, the venue for the sailing contests of the 19th Asian Games in its Xiangshan county, has also been completed. The center is the first sports venue in Zhejiang that is qualified to host international A-level sailing sports competitions.
萨马兰奇全球航海运动基金于7月8日在宁波市启动。
该基金经萨马兰奇基金会批准，将主要用于弘扬奥林匹克理想，促进中国体育文化发展，加强全球体育文化交流，促进世界帆船运动的普及和发展。
近年来，宁波先后举办了全国青少年帆船锦标赛、全国帆板锦标赛等高规格帆船赛事。围绕东钱湖建设了两个国家级帆船基地。第19届亚运会帆船比赛场地亚运会帆船中心在象山县也已建成。该中心也是浙江省首个具有承办国际A级帆船运动赛事资格的体育场馆。

Ningbo Lishe International Airport is set to open a new flight to Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture in Yunnan province on July 15, according to local media reports.
The 2,450-kilometer flight will be the longest direct flight offered by the airport.
The opening of the new route will increase the number of flights from Ningbo to Xishuangbanna to seven.
Xishuangbanna, which is famous for its tropical rainforests and ethnic minority customs, is among China’s most popular tourist cities.
宁波栎社国际机场将于7月15日开通飞往云南省西双版纳的新航班。
2,450公里的航班将是机场提供的最长的直飞航班。
新航线的开通将使宁波至西双版纳的航班增至7个。

Hua Mulan, a dance production by the Ningbo Song and Dance Theater, will be shown at the 50th Cervantes International Festival, which is scheduled to be held from Oct 12 to 30 in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Hua Mulan has been performed nearly 100 times after it premiere at the National Grand Theater in 2017.
The two-hour drama tells the tale of Hua Mulan, who disguises herself as a man to protect her father from being drafted into the war. She then spends 12 years at war, becoming a skilled and esteemed warrior of the Chinese army.
In December 2018, the drama was conferred the Lotus Award, the highest honor in China's dance circle.
宁波市歌舞剧院的舞蹈作品《花木兰》将于10月12日至30日在墨西哥瓜纳华托举行的第50届塞万提斯国际艺术节上亮相。
《花木兰》自2017年在国家大剧院首演以来，已上演近百场。
两小时的剧情讲述了花木兰为了保护父亲不被征召入伍而伪装成男人的故事。随后，她在战争中度过了12年，成为中国军队中一位技艺高超、受人尊敬的战士。
2018年12月，该剧荣获中国舞坛最高荣誉——荷花奖。

The Asia Conference on Marine Tourism 2022 successfully took place in Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, China, on 13 July 2022. With the theme of “Promote the Development of Asia and Share the Marine Economy”, it is a platform for communication and collaboration in marine tourism among Asian countries. To encourage the sustainable development of marine tourism and the steady post-pandemic recovery of tourism in Asia, the conference has introduced the following initiative:
1.共享海洋经济可持续发展
I. Sharing the sustainable development of the marine economy
海洋旅游作为海洋经济发展的支柱产业之一，在世界旅游业中占有举足轻重的地位，并呈现智慧化、开放化发展趋势。倡议在全球一体化和多边主义框架下，不断深化海洋领域国际合作，把握时代发展机遇，共享海洋经济可持续发展。
As one of the pillar industries in the development of marine economy, marine tourism plays a decisive role in global tourism, becoming smarter and more open. Within the framework of globalisation and multilateralism, the initiative seeks to intensify international collaboration in marine fields. Development opportunities in the new era will thus be seized and the sustainable development of the marine economy shared.
2.推动海洋文明交流互鉴

海洋文化是亚洲文明的重要内容，亚洲国家海洋文化各具特色，是亚洲文化多样性的生动体现。倡议以海洋文化为载体，加强亚洲国家之间文明交流互鉴，共同向世界展示亚洲文化。
Maritime cultures are a major component of Asian civilisation. They are highly distinctive in different nations, vividly reflecting the diversity of Asian cultures. As the purveyor of maritime cultures, the initiative strengthens the exchanges and mutual learning among Asian countries, so as to showcase Asian cultures to the world.

3.促进海洋旅游共同发展
III. Promoting the common development of marine tourism
亚洲海洋旅游发展潜力巨大，前景广阔。倡议共同谋划推动海洋旅游消费提质扩容，携手打造高品质海洋旅游目的地，为亚洲及世界各国民众提供优质、安全、可持续的海洋休闲旅游产品。
Marine tourism in Asia has tremendous potential and a promising future. The initiative encourages the enhancement of the quality and capacity of marine-tourism consumption, so as to create outstanding marine-tourism destinations and provide high-quality, safe and sustainable recreational marine-tourism products to visitors from Asia and around the globe.
4.共建海洋命运共同体
IV. Building a marine community with a shared future
海洋是地球生命的摇篮、人类资源的宝库、互联互通的要道和人们休闲旅游的驿站。海洋旅游是亚洲旅游发展的新增长点，倡议汇聚亚洲海洋可持续发展合力，秉持海洋命运共同体理念，共同促进和平海洋、友谊海洋和合作海洋建设。
The ocean is the cradle of life on earth, a treasure trove of resources, an interconnecting thoroughfare and a staging post for recreation and tourism. Marine tourism is a new growth point in Asia’s tourism development. The initiative encourages continuous commitment to the sustainable marine development in Asia and the building of a marine community with a shared future. It advocates peaceful, friendly, cooperative marine development beneficial to the well-being of humankind.

龙骨帆船正在变得流行

Recently, the Sailing Center, located in Chunxiao, Beilun, has recently welcomed a group of guests.What they experience is a keel sailboat that won't overturn!
近日，位于北仑春晓的帆船中心迎来了一批客人。他们体验的就是不会倾覆的龙骨帆船！
This is amazing! If someone tells you that a sailboat won't capsize, he usually means a keelboat. What tourists ride in Meishan Bay is basically a keel sailboat. Because the design of the keel installed at the bottom of the boat uses the tumbler principle, the center of gravity of the boat is lowered, and no matter how severe the roll is, it can be returned to the right, making it safer to go out to sea.
不会倾覆的帆船，有这么神奇？原因就在于安装在船底的龙骨的设计使用了“不倒翁”原理，船的重心降低了，能够防止船横向漂移，还能起到承重的作用，并保持帆船稳定，使出海更安全。
Ningbo Wanboyu Sailing Center is connected to the blue sea of Meishan Bay and can accommodate yachts with a maximum length of 30 meters. The center plans to build 293 water berths, and has built 84 water berths in the first phase. It is the largest yacht port in Ningbo.
宁波万博鱼帆船中心连接梅山湾碧海，可容纳最长30米的游艇。中心计划建设293个水上泊位，它是宁波最大的游艇港口。
In addition to sailing boats, many tourists can also experience the fun of wake surfing on the spot, and many citizens come here to learn about surfing culture and check out surfing sports.
