Duck de Chine gets into 'Best Restaurants in the World' List

It seems the food, beverage, and travel professionals polled by Conde Nast Traveler magazine have something in common with the voters in our 2016 Reader Restaurant Awards – they all like Duck de Chine.

In its list of "The World's Best Restaurants," published Tuesday by the US-based magazine, described as "Two hundred and seven of the greatest restaurants around the globe, according to those who eat, cook, and travel for a living," Duck de Chine is the only Beijing eatery included, and one of just six from China on the list. Shanghai had none (suck it!), and the only other non-Hong Kong restaurant is in Chengdu.

"'My go-to place for Beijing duck. They’re crisped in ovens using date wood to enhance the flavor.' Justin Bergman, Shanghai correspondent for Monocle," told the travel publication.

The Beijinger readers didn't need someone from Shanghai to tell them how much they like Duck de Chine, or why. At the 2016 Reader Restaurant Awards, Duck de Chine took home awards for Outstanding Service, Outstanding Beijing Duck, and Outstanding for Impressing Visitors.

On another note, The Beijinger's 2016 Pizza Cup and Festival is just around the corner. The celebration kicked off earlier this week with Pies for the People. Get special deals from various pizza parlors around town. Click here for more details.

In addition, tickets are now on sale for our October 15-16 Pizza Fest at the Zaha Hadid-designed Wangjing SOHO. Tickets are limited so buy ahead to make sure you don't miss out! Click here to purchase.
