Call for Bakers: Annual Cookie Monster Bake-Off Returns
The Annual Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off is gearing up for a fourth year of cut-throat baking action, with the deadline for submissions now announced as Monday, February 13. If you've got a great cookie recipe, or fancy yourself a bit of a baker, email Kristen (kristen@lumdimsum.com) of Lum Dim Sum fame with your recipe for consideration.

The bake-off concept is simple: The Hutong and lumdimsum.com co-host an annual charity bake-off to indulge Beijing's most indulgent cookie monsters by showcasing some of the city's best and newest bakers, all the while supporting a local community charity.
If selected to take part in the cook-off, each cookie contestant must provide enough small cookie bite samples to go around (for about 50 people) and they will also be allowed to sell their own cookies (each bag of five cookies for RMB 20, of which RMB 5 will be donated to the competition's selected charity).

Entrance for the event is RMB 150 (RMB 100 for members of the The Hutong), which includes sample bites of all 20 cookies and one cup of warm milk. You'll also be able to buy hot chocolate and hot toddy's throughout.
One hundred percent of raffle tickets and a portion of the entrance ticket and cookie sales will all be donated to a local charity, so there really is no reason not to release your inner glutton, completely guilt free. If we can give you one piece of advice, it's to make sure you come hungry, because 20 cookie samples are quite a lot.
