Brit Soul Singer Sam Smith Confirmed to Play Beijing on Oct 25
British crooner Sam Smith has just been confirmed to play Wukesong's Cadillac Center (formerly the Wukesong Arena) on Oct 25, giving the heartbroken and weepy across the capital something to look forward to over the lovey summer months.
Smith's deft and gospel-inflected vocals and his recognizable falsetto have given him universal appeal, proven by heavy rotation in H&Ms the world over. He graced ears in 2012 with Disclosure's wompity-womp-womp slow-builder "Latch" before breaking into the mainstream and reaching number 1 in America and the UK with his solo and bittersweet begging anthem "Stay With Me" in 2014, the third single off his album In the Lonely Hour. Those tracks went on to win him four Grammys in 2015, including Best New Artist and Record of the Year.
His second album The Thrill of It All followed in 2017, relying on heavily sleek production and the strength of his voice to convey the pain of love and heartbreak with an immediacy that draws the listener in.
Tickets for the Oct 25 show go on sale at 10am on Jun 7 and are priced from RMB 480-1,880. Watch this space for a link closer to the ticket release date. You can see Smith's other confirmed dates via his official website here: samsmithworld.com.
