Mosto Turns 10, Invites Big Names in F&B to Celebrate

Tom A. theBeijinger 2019-05-30

It seems like an increasingly rare occurrence in Beijing these days, but a restaurant passing the ten-year mark is something to be celebrated, and celebrate Mosto are. The Nali Patio establishment has invited some of the capital's biggest (and also longest-running) names to pitch up and share the kitchen for an entire week's worth of dinner parties.

For the occasion, the South American cuisine-leaning restaurant has constructed their own special menu as well as recruiting the help of
Migas, Obentos, Hatsune, and TRB to collaborate on "tribute" menus that will each run for two days apiece between Nov 29 and Dec 8. Those menus will act as a reimagining of the culinary style that Mosto has carved out for itself over the past decade and presented with flourishes fitting of each venue.

Executive Chef Daniel Urdanata, one of the founding member of the restaurant, will use the occasion to launch Mosto's new sharing plates

Mosto's own menu will include their brand new shared plates as overseen by resident Chef Daniel Urdanata and the newest member of the team, Colombian Chef Richard CaBa, who started back in September.

Since starting in 2008, the
Mosto Group has opened a number of sister projects that have proved successes in their respective sectors. Those include the particularly popular health-bent casual café of Moka Bros and South American cocktail lounge La Social, both also located in Nali Patio. The former has since expanded to Shanghai and Chengdu.

Looking back, Mosto had this to say about some of the highlights from the past ten years:

Mosto has experienced many prestigious moments over the years, from serving Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to hosting the 2008 Team USA Olympic gold medalists rowing team. But the moments that stand out most are the memories we have made. Before even officially opening our doors, we knew we had done something special when we invited friends and family to preview our menu. The windows were boarded up, the staff was still in training, yet, delicious food poured out from the open kitchen and the contagious atmosphere, that feeling of warmth and comfort, was already present.

If you'd like to join the team in a continuation of that revelry, a seat at any night will set you back RMB 388 and includes a three- to four-course tasting menu and free-flow house wine, bubbles, and local beer. We'd recommend booking your place sooner rather than later as nights are filling up fast. Tap on "Read more" at the bottom of this article to learn more about the event.

Chin chin and here's to ten more years!
