CBD craft beer joint Beersmith aims to maintain your glowing Lantern Festival disposition with their newly brewed Lucky Lanterns sipper. The scarlet 5.5 percent ABV suds are infused with tangerine peel (synonymous with wishing friends and family good luck during the fest), and Jasmine tea. Together, those ingredients make for a fragrant and flavorful brew.
No matter where
they turn up, Great Leap Brewing has no trouble attracting throngs of
patrons – from their original hutong taproom, their hugely popular (but
sadly since shuttered) #12 location, or their newer Xinyuan Jie and Lidu
spots. Now they're breaking new ground with a bottled series produced
at their pilot brewery at the foot of the Great Wall.
KoelBrett
Apricot is the first beer to be released from the aptly titled Wild Wall
Series of beers brewed at the new site. It's a strong debut with a tart
and smooth finish, distinctive "barnyard" aroma and 6 percent ABV. To
celebrate both the brew and the whole Wild Wall endeavor, Great Leap
will also host a six-course, seven-beer RMB 499 dinner at Sifang
Sanchuan in Sanlitun's Mercedes Me complex on Mar 1.
After you recover from this weekend and inch your way toward hump day, stop by Des Link. Slow Boat Brewery has outfitted the bar and restaurant (which is coupled with LGBT haven Destination on Gongti) with Monkey's Fist IPA on for RMB 45, and on Wednesday they are buy one, get one free.
And a few last, delicious sips...
Anyone on a tight booze budget before payday can find relief at Arrow Factory until next Thursday, Feb 28, as the Liangmahe brewery is selling its bottled Clone Easy and Belgian ales for an irresistibly low RMB 15.
There's also plenty of fun to be had in Beijing's hutong haunts these days. Jiaodaokou's Side Street, for instance, hosts an Italian night every Thursday featuring spritz for RMB 35 and negronis for RMB 45.
Finally, anyone inclined to grapes instead of hops should head over to Lidu's Eudora Station. Every Sunday they host a wine dinner soundtracked by the acoustic band The Hats. While there, you can enjoy any three glasses of wine for RMB 128.
