It's with heavy hearts and empty stomachs that we must announce that this year's Beijing Pizza Festival has been postponed until October.

Why would you do this to us?

Unfortunately, our celebration of dough and cheese happens to be overshadowed by another very special celebration and one sadly much less pizza-related: the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

As you're probably already well aware, Beijing is about to enter a period of immaculately planned and under-no-circumstances-must-there-be-any-surprises activity, culminating in the romp and pomp of the big anniversary celebrations on Oct 1.

That means that big, non-government mandated events like ours are going to be few and far between until the last quarter of the year.

What now?

If you had bought a ticket for the festival, which was to originally be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug 17-18, then you should have already received a refund. If for some reason your refund has yet to come through, please contact marketing@truerun.com.

Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to make the 2019 Beijing Pizza Festival a big success, so watch this space in the coming weeks for the announcement of a new October date, and until then, keep on snackin'!

Speaking national holidays... start preparing your Golden Week escape now.
