Welcome to Wudaokou Watch, where we profile a different Beijing-based student from abroad each week to hear about their life in China's capital. The first Wudaokou Watch interview was published in October 2018, and we eventually aim to feature a student from every country in the world. You can read the whole series here:
My name is Ernest Bai Koroma, and I'm from Freetown, Sierra Leone.
I am the co-founder of the Cardxe APP (apps.apple.com/us/app/cardxe/id1460225731). It's an application that connects people living in Beijing with friends, colleagues, and family around the world via their cell phone. This will be done by taking the traditional business card digital and integrating all social media.
I am an international marketing student currently studying at Beijing Foreign Studies University. My purpose is to achieve my long term dream of being an entrepreneur, by being innovative and making an impact in the social and business world.

Sierra Leone is a blessed nation located in coastal west Africa with a vast tropical landscape that is rich in natural resources. It has vibrant people and culture, tall mountains, and rivers that lead to its breathtaking white sandy beaches and crystal clear ocean.
My home country and China share certain policies and customs that encourage young people to achieve their dreams, but for foreigners to participate and bring positive impacts and ideas into China, sometimes there are limitations.
Living in Beijing has helped me to overcome my limitations by bringing light to a dream project like the Cardxe App.
I have always been a law-abiding student, so I have no regrets.
Five years from now, I want to be a successful entrepreneur who has created change in people’s lives.
Strive for every opportunity. Don't say it's too small or not your preference. You never know what it feels like until you experience it.
