Did you forget that tomorrow is Qixi – aka Chinese Valentine’s Day – because we almost did! Nevertheless, we were reminded just in time, and put together a list of events for every level of relationship, from devoutly lovestruck to devoutly single. If you happen to fall in the latter camp, and need a little help breaking the ice in Mandarin, check out these useful phrases to help you play it cool, while looking super hot.
From BOGOF glasses of rose champagne at Union all the way through to a staycation package in Suite 95, The Opposite House has a number of deals to set your heart aflutter this Qixi. For the devoutly lovestruck, RMB 3,999 gets you a one night stay at the hotel, in-room breakfast for two, rose petal bubble bath, welcome champagne, and an RMB 1,000 dining voucher that can be used at any of their restaurants. If you want something a little more than champagne, but not as decadent as an onsite sleepover, then check out the special Qixi menus at Frasca (RMB 1,199) and Jing Yaa Tang (RMB 1,520). Both restaurants will be open from noon-2.30pm for lunch and 6-10.30pm for dinner.
