With the release of a new video featuring never-before-seen artwork and footage of the park’s attractions, we’re finally getting an idea of what a day spent at Universal Studios Beijing will actually be like when its gates open in May 2021.
Though we’d already known that the park would include a Transformers Metrobase, Kung Fu Panda Land, Minion Land, Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Jurassic World, the latest announcement lets us peek into their actual attractions, from rides like the Decepticoaster, Minion Mayhem, and Flight of the Hippogriff, to the movie-magic-come-to-life spectacles that separate Universal parks from your run-of-the-mill coaster junkie funland, such as the much-anticipated Jurrasic World Adventure as well as large-scale live demonstrations of how movie magic is achieved, courtesy of Lights, Camera, Action!
Take a look at these screen captures for yourself:But not everyone is impressed with the park's marketing materials thus far.
Earlier this week, a series of photos from Tongzhou News were posted on Weibo, billed as the first peek at the resort’s completed construction. The images were met with less-than-stellar reviews from netizens, who quickly offered up quips such as, “I thought the photos were taken at the street park right next to my apartment."

The criticism was, in all likelihood, a result of the poor photography and low-quality images uploaded to the platform, but the negative publicity may just have been what prompted Universal to release its own stunning images. At any rate, we’re looking forward to seeing it all in person in seven months’ time.
