Though a trip through Beijing has plenty of historical architecture to offer, the city’s skyline also holds many feats of modern design. However, unlike Shanghai, where most of the great structures are gathered around the Pudong bend to be viewed all at once, Beijing has spread out its contemporary landmarks throughout the city, making it difficult for architectural enthusiasts to sneak a gander at all of them. We therefore decided to gather them all into one place. Here is our list of Beijing’s most iconic modern buildings:Are you someone who roams around the city, camera in hand, capturing the beating heart of our vibrant metropolis? If so, then we want to hear from you – or rather, see your work!The Beijinger is looking to purchase photos from your archives (at least ten usable images) that show Beijing as the young, lively, exciting place we all know and love for a project that looks to capture all that Beijing has to offer.We're looking for photos that check all these boxes:- Taken by yourself some time over the past two years;
- Paired with a caption that indicates when and where the picture was taken, and what is going on in the photo;
- If there are faces clearly visible in the photo, you must have cleared usage rights with the subjects;
- Looks great on Instagram.
What we want:- Classic shots of well-known and off-the-beaten-path tourist Beijing sites
- Dizzying displays of technological abundance
- Mouthwatering gourmet meals
- Sporty folks doing sporty stuff
- Distinctly seasonal scenes (winter/summer/spring/fall)
What we don’t want:- Anything overtly political
- You and your friends flashing the V-sign prominently in the photo
- Anything that casts a distinctly negative image of the city (such as piles of broken share bikes, traffic jams)
- Gritty reality of the underbelly of Beijing (such as dilapidated construction sites)
If you think you’ve got what it takes to make a little extra money off the photos you've already taken, then send three to five sample shots to info@thebeijinger.com. Likewise, this is not an assignment-based contract. Rather, we’re looking to purchase collections of pictures you've already taken in batches of ten or more.
