Pub quizzes are a great way to test your knowledge on a variety of topics while enjoying good company, good food, and learning a thing or two you might not have known before while you’re at it.

Home Plate BBQ has decided to keep the pub quiz spirit going even though their doors are closed, with their first ever virtual quiz night to take place tomorrow via Zoom.

The event will be hosted by the venue's regular quiz master, Daniel

Restaurant operations manager Charlie, the brains behind the new event, got inspired by the sense of community the quizzes were able to bring about when he took part in a few while in the UK. "I was actually in the UK during the lockdown there, and it became a really popular way to socialize and catch up with people and just pass the time."

While Home Plate is no stranger to pub quizzes -- they usually hold theirs every Thursday -- due to restaurants currently being open for delivery only, the virtual quiz felt like a good stand in.

Take part in the fun online tomorrow night

"We just thought it would be a fun way to keep Home Plate interacting and being part of the community, and to help everyone have a bit of fun," Charlie tells me, adding it's a great excuse for people to order some delicious barbecue, too.

Want to take part in the quiz? Simply order some food from Home Plate and send them the message: "I want to quiz" and you'll be sent a room ID and password with your order.

Charlie and the Home Plate team say the virtual quiz will happen every week from here on out, but if you've really been itching to get back into quiz night fun, tomorrow night is the night to do it!

Home Plate BBQ's Virtual Quiz is taking place on May 12 at 7.30pm. To take part, just send the message "I want to quiz" with your next order. Scan the QR or call the number in the poster for more details.
