The Results Are In: Slowboat Wins Juicy Burger Cup 2022!
The votes have been tallied and a champion has been decided: Slowboat once again regains the title of Beijing’s Best Burger. With this being their sixth victory, they continue their streak as the most decorated winner in Juicy Burger Cup history!
This means Home Plate BBQ, who made it to the top with Slow Boat, ranks second best in Beijing. As for the runner up contest between Beersmith and Q MEX, Q MEX has come out on top. This means Q MEX is third best, while Beersmith ranks fourth.
An Interesting Burger Cup Year
This year’s Juicy Burger Cup was nothing short of out of the ordinary. Due to epidemic restrictions, our annual Burger Fest couldn’t be held, so the Burger Cup contest was instead held in tandem with Beijing’s first ever Juicy Burger Month.
Be that as it may, it was smooth sailing once again for Slowboat this year, as they cruised through the Round of 64 in a top seed. As the rounds progressed, they battled a number of other quality burger joints like Burge’s Bistro & Bar and COMMUNE RESERVE.
Things started heating up in the Elite 8, though, when Slowboat faced off against fellow brewery and capital stalwart Great Leap Brewing.
Slowboat chugged on through to pass Great Leap quickly, entering the Final Four to face rivals Q MEX -- who took the Burger Cup crown from Slowboat back in 2017 -- before finally facing off against three time Burger Cup champs Home Plate.
From there, it was the battle of the champions, with these two great burger houses pitted against one another for renewed glory.
But whether it’s the crispiness of the beer battered fries on their legendary Fryburger or the intermingling of cheese and pickles on their Okie Double Smash Burger, the voters have once again favored Slowboat as the Best Burger in Beijing for 2022!
