A Few New Eateries and Bars to Try in Beijing
New spots that have popped up around the capital, plus a few old Beijing hands branching out with new shops in other parts of town.
El Nido Xingfucun
Craft beer purveyors El Nido have expanded to Gongti, having opened up a space on the floor above Boucherie Michel in Xingfucun fairly recently. El Nido 2.0 is simply designed, currently only featuring a bar with a few taps, ample seating, a few windows peering onto the street below, and murals here and there. That being said, El Nido is all about good craft beer, so we’re sure there’ll be no disappointments there!

Dolce & Amaro
Folks living in northeastern Chaoyang and Shunyi no longer have to journey far to enjoy the baked treats of Sanlitun stalwart Da Giuliano thanks to the arrival of Dolce & Amaro. Located on Xinjin Lu just outside the Orchid Garden compound, this new spot from the folks behind Da Giuliano looks like a nice place to relax with a cappuccino and pastry, or perhaps a few of the Italian bake shop’s sweeter offerings.

Grab One Sake
This blink and you’ll miss it shop, just left of the south entrance of Shangdu SOHO North, hides within its quiet interiors a small sake shop and bar. If a space for dining and drinking could double as an art space, Grab One Sake would be exactly that, as one can be a part of a relaxing piece of art while sipping on chilled sake or perusing their selection.

Goose Island Taproom
This one slipped through our fingers and might not be brand new, but it's a newer spot worth mentioning up in Solana. The Goose Island Taproom is the American brewery of the same name's first foray into Beijing, having been a common sight in Shanghai for a few years now. Expect a wide selection of Goose Island beers on tap, plus a wide array of burgers, pizza, pasta, and more.
