Tess Dumon’s creation combines her own story and extensive reading experience to build her dreamscape through a mythical approach while capturing ineffable thoughts and emotions. She seeks to place the viewer at the centre of the work, turning the viewing itself into a performance. Her work takes the form of sculpture, painting, and drawing, which respond to each other in their formal expression and thematic exploration.

Oil and charcoal on canvas布面油彩、炭笔115 x 70 x 2.2 cm

Highly autobiographical, the works of Lebanese artist Abed Al Kadiri (b. 1984 in Beirut) stem from a need to translate violence and investigate repressed personal and collective traumatic experiences, explore feelings of fragility and destruction and the relationship between nature, isolation, and loss. As the growth rings at a tree’s core, Al Kadiri’s work unreels stories that position the tree as a witness and narrator of a society in perpetual collapse.

Tamaris Borrelly’s work revolves around the living world, its metamorphoses, its fragility, and its durability. Landscape and dreaming are at the centre of Borrelly’s work. She questions the relationships between species and the biological links through her search for the fusion of matter. Like the scientist seeking to contribute to universal knowledge, she attempts to create a space opening onto another world.

Vincent Cazeneuve gradually developed his narratives and aesthetics from both occidental and oriental influences with his deceptively simple yet complex language while relentlessly exploring non-traditional supports such as old rice bags, wool felt, and leather. He also tries to draw on other art forms such as lithography, relief carving, collage, and traditional crafts such as rattan and bamboo weaving, lending his work rich layers and tactile feelings.

Cazeneuve’s continuing research into the history of lacquer and its related traditional crafts has been an important catalyst for his work, enabling him to break the constraints of traditional concepts.

CHAE Sung-Pil

CHAE Sung-Pil (b.1972) is a South Korean artist living in France. His work depicts "a poetic pictorial metaphor to the ‘Tao’ of nature”, combining the philosophy and techniques of Oriental traditions and abstract expression in Western art.

Chae's soil palette is collected from various trips around the world, then filtered, and diluted into colour powder or pigment, creating a reminiscence of the earth's texture. The soil is often mixed with ink and powdered silver and gold dust. Moments of nature are presented on the canvas through the artist's behaviour and forces such as running water and gravity.

Devoting himself to bronze sculptures, Daniel Daviau focuses on the representation of animals, especially endangered species. Distinctly recognizable, Daviau’s sculptures are modern, sensitive, and full of emotions, with pure lines and composed elegance, demonstrating the superb quality of both bronze casting and "patina" handling skills.

The artist expresses with humour the majesty and captures the caricature attitude of his bestiary. The purity of his lines, and the subtle elegance of his design made him one of the most talented representatives of the old and illustrious family of the Animalists.

Hugo Deverchère explores how science, technology, and their new modes of representation shape our eyes, our knowledge, our consciousness, and our perception of our close and distant environment.

The series of images on view capture the multiple physical and symbolic dimensions of certain landscapes. Their appearance evokes both what the Earth must have looked like during its chaotic birth and the vision of its destruction and post-human future. They represent the uchronic fantasy of a cosmic elsewhere and embody past, present, and future projections.

Charles Hascoët shares his daily life, thoughts, and emotions through his intuitive paintings. The artist weaves his personal experiences into intriguing puzzles that guide the viewers on a journey between the tangible and the imaginary.

In the three works titled Lady into Fox, the artist explores the idea of "loving and being loved" with the fox as his companion in three settings — the starry sky, the countryside and the interior respectively. A deep and gentle tone runs throughout these works as the artist unveils the "love" and "companionship" he strives for.

192 x 124 x 3.5 cm

Using natural pastels, wood, plaster, and concrete as his primary materials, Ugo Schildge's unique approach blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture, canvas and medium, control and freedom, while giving the works an unparalleled texture and fluidity.

Schildge takes a different approach this time, using the theme of harmful relationships, with the scattered feathers and grey characters alluding to the sadness of the passing of time. At the same time, this "voyeuristic" perspective makes the viewer inevitably become a witness to this flashback of the past.

Drawing inspiration from lacquer, its characteristics, and its tradition, Weng Jijun provides an alternative for us to re-examine our connection with the world in a way that bridges its different dimensions.

In recent years, Weng Jijun has begun to focus more on the human desire to explore the unknown, using his works to reflect the connections between the macro and micro worlds beyond the prism of science. His mastery of lacquer art has enabled him to transform the traditional 'patterns' and 'motifs' into a search for the origins of life and a depiction of cosmic forms.
