Strictly Cookies Launches Mooncake Cookie Hybrid: The Mookie

Cronuts, cake pops, s’mores cupcakes and more, hybrid desserts are a phenomenon that just won’t quit. China now has the delicious honor of having one of its best-known seasonal sweets join their ranks with the launch of the ‘mookie’ – a mooncake/cookie crossbreed, thanks to Strictly Cookies.

The rich and chewy brainchild of Strictly founder Lexie Comstock, who has spent the last few years campaigning against the maxim that ‘mooncakes are the cookies of the east,’ mookies strike a cookie-based balance between Asian-inspired flavors, which encompass all the gooey texture of the traditional lotus bean paste filling.

Put literally, they’re soft, extra fudgy mini cookies with flavors like matcha and marzipan, peanut butter and jelly, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate with caramel and purple potato with white chocolate. Good enough, we reckon, to turn even the staunchest mooncake lover over to #teamcookie.
