The Pantry Is Closed, Will Reopen Under A New Name
By Lauren Hogan
The Pantry, a longtime Shanghai establishment and home to some of our favorite local artisans like Spread the Bagel and Amelia's, has closed.
But before you go into a tizzy over another beloved shop shutting up, we've got good news coming.
According to our local source, The Pantry will be leased to a new client, just under a different name – and they'll continue to stock our favorite local artisans, including Amelia's and Spread the Bagel.
And for those in the North Jing'an hood who find The Pantry's Wulumuqi Lu shop too far of a stretch, we've got good news for you too: Amelia's is also stocked at newly opened The Market.
So, while you might have a few weeks of withdrawals without your corner store pick up, don't fret, some things in Shanghai do get a second shot.
