This Invention Will Change the Way You Eat Hot Pot
By Bridget O'Donnell
China is becoming a hub for technological innovation, leading the way in industries like mobile payments, high-speed rail, food delivery and public toilets with (absolutely necessary) free wifi.
Now it can add another item on its list of industries to disrupt: Big Hot Pot.
A video, circulating on WeChat, shows a four-part machine which appears to automatically strain the soup so that you can easily grab meat, tofu, quail eggs and other delicacies from the pot. Game: changed.
While it certainly would take the fun away from fishing out all the lost treasures, you have to admit this would make your next hot pot adventure quite less of a hassle.
We're not sure when you'll start seeing this invention at, say, your local Haidilao, but we sure hope it's soon.
