The Dutch DJ, producer and self-taught musician has mixed the soul, gospel and jazz sounds from his childhood growing up in a churchgoing household with the more secular sounds of electronic music and hip hop.

Oct 28-29: Halloweekend
This scary season That’s Shanghai is teaming up with Pub Crawl Shanghai and Havana Club to bring you the biggest, baddest moving party of the Halloweekend. Kicking off with an hour of open bar on Dagu Lu, we’ll take party buses down and bring Yongkang Lu back from the dead, before heading up to Wuding Lu for one last stop before a secret party. Expect shots, drink deals and it all to end with a scream!

Oct 28-30: Halloween Cursed Park
There’s no rest for Bar Rouge who follows an epic two-week long birthday celebration with a weekend of Halloween parties. The Bund hotspot will be transformed into a cursed park mixing darkly imaginative decorations with their customary chic atmosphere. Dress code: elegantly scary.

Oct 29: INTRO Electronic Music Festival
Beijing’s biggest electronic music festival makes its Shanghai debut at Expo Park. Detroit techno legend Kevin Sauderson and German techno staple DJ Koze headline supported by the finest in Shanghai and Beijing’s electronic underground. Afterparty goes down at The Shelter.

Oct 29: Freak Out
SHFT presents the second edition of their Halloween Warehouse Festival, which will be traveling to three cities. Renowned producer Araabmuzik (aka. the Master of the MPC) will show off the chops that have made him a hip hop heavyweight who is also dabbling in EDM. Co-headlining is South Korean rap sensation Keith Ape (pictured), whose rowdy live shows and Southern rap- indebted sound have been making waves in America. As usual, a stellar local line-up will support, with a haunted temple-themed decoration complementing the freaky Halloween vibes.

Oct 29: STD Anniversary
The always on-point party promoters celebrates nine years in the game by welcoming cutting-edge rapper and producer Le1f. Since bursting on the scene by lacing Das Racist with the ‘Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell’ beat, Le1f has released stunning and unique tracks including his debut disc Riot Boi. He’ll be supported by STD residents, Dazzy, Linfeng, R3, AD08 and Lean.
