Starting today, tickets for the Metro can be purchased online.

Tickets can be ordered ahead of time using the apps Alipay or Fufeitong, and once users enter the station, they can retrieve their tickets by scanning a QR code with their phone.

Another alternative is buying tickets at the station at newly installed self-service touch screen machines. Once travelers pick their route, they can scan a QR code to pay for their ride.

As of now services are offered on Line 11’s Disney Station, Line 2’s Lujiazui Station, and Line 10’s Nanjing Road E. Station, but plans are in the works for expansion.

Now there are no excuses for hopping those turnstiles...
