Bocado Shuts Down and Yongfu Taco Truck Burns

Spanish restaurant and cocktail bar Bocado has become the latest Yongfu Lu establishment to close, according to its owners.

Bocado, which first arrived in Shanghai back in 2011, hosted a big party last night to say farewell to the street for one last time. 

But goodbye celebrations were marred last night by a scary incident which saw the infamous Yongfu Lu Taco Truck light on fire at around 2am. Eyewitnesses on the scene say the flames engulfed the grill before spreading inside the truck. No word yet on injuries.

Just last month, Bocado's neighbor, The Shelter, announced that it would be closing down by the end of December. Meanwhile, El Coctel and Bikini shut down earlier this year due to licensing issues. 

A number of popular spots in Xuhui—notably, Yongkang Lu and Dongping Lu—have also shuttered in the great Shanghai F&B culling of 2016.
