Pizza Hut's First Robot Restaurant Opening in Shanghai
By Tongfei Zhang
Pizza Hut has finally jumped on the robot restaurant bandwagon to make all of our pizza-bot dreams come to life with the recent release of robot waiters.
Located on the basement floor of the newly built Shanghai Tower (which still only has its observatory open to visitors) Pizza Hut's first concept store ph+ has made its debut with an impressive high-tech theme. (And if the ovens are baking, we hope that means the rest of the tower is opening soon)!
Upon entering, guests are greeted by two lovely 80cm-tall robots (both named Casper) at the door. After being greeted, your table number will appear on their screen and the friendly little buddies will lead you to your seat. Expect food-delivery robots like this to be popping up all over the place soon.
It seems like the future of the dining will be a high-tech experience. We're okay with that, as long as Black Mirror doesn't turn into reality.
