That's Shanghai - December 2016 Issue Out Now!

2016-12-06 ThatsShanghai

The December issue of That's Shanghai is out now – paper-and-ink-form citywide.

Restaurants are rolling out their Christmas menus. Hotels are lighting up their trees. Starbucks shops and malls across Shanghai are looping traditional holiday tunes.

In one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time, John Lennon sang, “So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year over, and a new one has begun…”

The end of the year is always a good time to take a moment and look back on the past 300 plus days – and that’s exactly what we’ve done in our final cover story of 2016 (p51), where you’ll find a recap of this year’s most memorable stories in technology, sports, arts, style and food.

Continuing with the Christmas spirit, you’ll find our holiday gift guide in the Life & Style section (p24), highlights of Christmas meals around town in Eat & Drink (p73), and a feature on The Giving Tree, a charity program that provides school supplies and other essentials for underprivileged children in rural China every Christmas (p66) in the Community section.

Elsewhere in the magazine, Andrew Chin speaks to David Guetta on his upcoming show on New Year’s Eve (p39), as well as the producer of the popular interactive theater show, Sleep No More (p48). Lena Gidwani in Guangzhou catches up with Jimmy Choo (p30), while our own Food Editor Betty Richardson has prepared a list of the best hot pot restaurants in Shanghai (p71) to warm your belly this winter.

That’s it for us this year; see you in 2017.
