Apr 28: Gate to Otherside

A fairly new band comprised of Beijing indie music veterans, Gate to Otherside brings their debut album of psychedelic rock, Dragon Bus Terminal, on a China tour with a stop at Yuyintang.

Apr 29: Maximilian Hecker

The Berlin singer-songwriter has amassed a massive following in China thanks to his ‘melancholy pop hymns’ and his frequent tours of the country.

Apr 29: Shanghorrorfest Part 2 

Inferno hosts a night of all things dark and evil with a screening of The Omen followed by a metal show. Shanghai bands Must Be Red, Alpaca, and Theory of Convergence join acoustic guitarist The Bonesinner.

Apr 30: Grindhouse EP Launch 

Locally-based punk-rock band Grindhouse, who have been active since 2015, release their new EP. Playing in support are garage rockers Zhaojiabang and Wheelhouse.

May 1: Coco Zhao & Monique Klemann: The Sound of China & The Netherlands

Celebrated Shanghai jazz performer Coco Zhao, who blends influences of East and West in his music and has been praised for his unique voice and expressive performance style, joins Dutch vocalist Monique Klemann for a special show at JZ Club. The two singers recently collaborated on a bossa nova song for Zhao’s new album.
