By Zaruf Ezhan
If you’ve always dreamed of creating a giant floating masterpiece that goes back and forth across the Huangpu River, this might just be your big break.
The Bund Art Project is looking to do up six ferries along the popular Yangpu and Lupu Bridge ferry routes. Both amateur and experienced designers are invited to submit their artwork for the public vessels, and the final designs will be selected by a panel of experts.
Project organizer Sophie Liu told Shanghai Daily the idea is to encourage the public to take part in art creations and inspire their talents.
Interested? Send your ferry artwork to the project’s official website www.bundartplan.com before July 28. Winners will receive RMB10,000 for their efforts.
What’s the level of expectation, you ask? Well, two of the ferries have been commissioned to celebrated Chinese artist Zhu Yingchun and Shanghai Expo designer Fernando Brandao from Brazil. So, make sure you color within the lines...
