Suitcases Made of Cocaine Seized at Shanghai Pudong Airport

Shanghai customs announced yesterday that they have seized over 10 kilograms of cocaine at Shanghai Pudong International Airport—in the form of travel suitcases.
A Southeast Asian woman traveling from South America was caught trying to smuggle some blow into China, allegedly by mixing the drug into the suitcase using an injection molding technique.

She almost got away with it as well. The luggage initially passed X-ray inspection, which showed it to have a darker hue compared to regular suitcases.
When security emptied the luggage for inspection, it was abnormally heavy. Even a young male officer couldn’t carry it with one hand, according to the authorities.
Samples of the suspicious luggage were taken for a quick drug test, which tested positive.
The event happened back in February, and was disclosed on Tuesday ahead of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26.
This is the first case of its kind in China, although the cocaine-laced suitcase method of smuggling has been reported in Germany.
