WIN! There's a Tiki-Themed Rooftop Party in Jing'an This Sunday
By Betty Richardson
Hello, hello, hello! Event moguls Social Supply and queer party promoters Snap! have teamed up to serve Shanghai some Tiki realness at a rooftop party this Sunday July 16, from 12-8pm.
The rooftop in question is The Cosmos, situated inside the fictional 'McKinnon Hotel' in Jing'an, used to stage immersive Shakespearian play Sleep No More. Sadly the rooftop doesn't see much action, but for this event it's getting a tropical makeover that will include mini pools with floaties, palm foliage, beach umbrellas and live DJ's.
F&B will include Indonesian classics from the guys at Bumbu, Jamaican jerk chicken from Missy's, ice cream 'rolls' and fresh fruit popsicles from Prēe, and what we can perhaps assume will be juicy burgers from Beef & Liberty. Tippler will be bringing booze, specifically Tiki cocktails, beer, wine and juices.
As for entertainment, expect DJ sets from Love Bang Soundsystem, Michelle Grant and original music from Sleep No More performer Garth Is Art. There'll also be extra fishiness in the form of Tiki drag queen hostesses to get the party started.
Tickets:
Pre-sale tickets are still available for RMB100 until July 12, 4pm (incl. one drink); regular tickets for RMB150 (incl. one drink; 20 percent discount if buying 10 or more tickets); or evening only tickets for RMB70 (entrance after 6pm, incl. one drink). Kids under 12 go free, but obviously, no drinks for them.
WIN!!!
We've also got three tickets to give away. Get your hands on 'em by sharing this article to your WeChat Moments with the caption 'That's what I want,' and send a screengrab to our account. Winners will be notified on Friday.
