Shanghai Says You Can No Longer Nap on the Bund

Ever seen the benches along the Bund and thought to yourself, "Hmm, now wouldn't this be a great spot for a nap?"

Well, we've got some unfortunate news for you: Shanghai authorities are not having any of that.

Starting this week, police and urban management officials are cracking down on visitors looking to catch a few Zs on the Bund waterfront area. And their message is loud and clear: the Bund is NOT your bed.

The crackdown comes as more tourists have complained about seeing an increasing number of people, including *gasp* "half-naked men," spending the night next to the Huangpu River.

It's only gotten worse with the recent record-breaking heatwave, which has led some to seek refuge from the scorching hot temperatures by heading over to enjoy cooler winds on the riverfront.

The snoozers have been spotted lying on the wooden benches and along the waterfront, with some even bringing tents and luggage for a Bund sleepover party with their buddies.

Local media report that some of the sleepers have been "behaving badly," with images circulating online showing plastic bottles and other garbage piled up near their makeshift beds.

So please, stop having sleepovers on the Bund you guys. That's what IKEA is for.
