It’s that time of year again where Urban Family and That’s Shanghai will take over Green City in Jinqiao for our annual Sounds of Spring festival. This Mother’s Day weekend, May 12-13, will bring a collaboration of music, sport and community spirit to Shanghai and you’re invited to join the fun.
Open to all families, our festival will be delivered over two exciting days with activities, a soccer tournament, musical entertainment and delicious treats from Shanghai’s well-known restaurants. The weekend will culminate with Heart to Heart Shanghai’s annual Battle of the Bands competition on Sunday afternoon. So, stick around to see the best junior rockers in town, live on stage vying to take the Best Group title, while raising funds for a fantastic cause.
Here are the highlights of what we have in store for you and your family.
Over Saturday and Sunday, enjoy live music performances throughout the day. In addition, Sunday May 13 will see more than 10 groups, from schools across Shanghai, perform during the Heart to Heart Battle of the Bands competition.
We are proud to partner with non-profit, community outreach program Heart to Heart Shanghai. Funds raised during Battle of the Bands will be used to sponsor heart surgery for children in need, oversee two hospital playrooms and purchase items for school libraries in underprivileged rural areas.
Join one of our fun parent and child yoga classes offered during Saturday and Sunday. The class will involve animal postures, songs, gentle partner interaction and relaxation to encourage attentive and playful bonding between parents and children; a great experience for the family!
Inspired by the upcoming World Cup 2018? Then get into the football spirit and watch our mini World Cup tournament. We will have 12 football teams, representing nationalities from around the globe, showing off their well-honed skills on the field.
Explore what’s on offer from the 60 booths around the ground including local businesses, food stalls and interactive activities such as bouncy castles, a carousel and virtual reality experiences. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!
