May 24: Devil & Libido
Devil & Libido are an alternative noisecore bass-and-drums duo from Tokyo with a unique sound that blends new wave, noise rock, hardcore, and math rock with a melodic pop sensibility. Catch the wild energy of their show at Yuyintang.

May 26: METZ
Praised by The New Yorker as ‘punishing, noisy, and exhilarating’ and known for their visceral live shows, acclaimed Canadian punk-rockers METZ return to Shanghai for their latest show with Split Works. They’re touring in support of their latest album, Strange Peace, which dropped last September.

May 26: AV Party
Atomic Visual Studio celebrates five years as promoters and producers of digital art with a massive birthday party at Modern Sky Lab. The line-up features some of the leading lights of Chinese independent music, like Nova Heart (pictured), Shao and Duck Fight Goose, whose sets will all be paired with striking visuals.

May 27: Fabrizio Bosso
Uva Wine Bar hosts the Italian jazz quartet led by noted trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso, who are passing through Shanghai after a jazz festival performance in Beijing. Head there for their 'State of the Art' show, featuring original compositions and a healthy dose of improvisation.

May 27: Ceremony
Comprised of former Skywave member John Fedowitz and other alternating band members, Ceremony comes to Shanghai as part of their Asia tour to promote the album East Coast, which just dropped last week. Head there for their brand of disorted, psychedelic post-punk.
