The list of things you can’t do on WeChat gets shorter every day. Now if you're unhappy in your marriage, WeChat can help. If you want to get divorced but can’t be bothered to call your registry office to make an appointment you can now use WeChat to register for divorce.

The news comes from Matthew Brennan, co-founder of China Channel and expert in all things Sino, web and technology related. On Tuesday, Brennan posted a screenshot of a mini-program on Tencent’s WeChat app to his Twitter account.

The program gives access to public services in Guangdong province and, among other things, you can now schedule a divorce registration appointment through WeChat. It has never been easier.

Turns out, there might be a real demand for such a function. In the past couple years, China experienced a surge in divorce rates and it’s unlikely that this will change anytime soon.

Luckily, WeChat’s here to help with basically everything – including your marital woes.
