Luxury French retailer Galeries Lafayette is growing their presence in China by opening two new locations in Shanghai.

The first shop is set to open in the Shanghai Pudong Mall and the other will be located in L+MALL, right in the heart of Lujiazui in Pudong, Xinhua reports. Both locations will be open for business by the end of this year.

The Shanghai Pudong Mall location will span four floors and cover over 7,600 square meters, WWD reports. HMKM, an acclaimed London-based architectural studio, will design the interior of the store. The Lujiazui location in L+MALL will be much larger, measuring a whopping 23,100 square meters.

The goal is for Lujiazui to be one of the world's most famous business, shopping and tourist centers by 2020. Many more high-end brands and companies are expected to set up shop in the area in the future.

China's first Galeries Lafayette store opened in Beijing in 2013. However, the new Shanghai branches will differ from both the Beijing and Paris locations by offering new items to customers, including select European designer brands from Europe, according to Galeries Lafayette.

The company's expansion won't stop with Shanghai. Galeries Lafayette plans to open a dozen more branches in six Chinese cities by 2025.
