Porsche Crashes into Sasha's Garden in Downtown Shanghai

Video has emerged of a car accident that took place at Sasha's and Zapata's on Thursday evening.

Footage circulating on WeChat this morning reveals the aftermath of a car crash at the front gate of the popular restaurant and bar located at the intersection of Dongping Lu and Hengshan Lu in downtown Shanghai. A black Porsche vehicle appears to have plowed through the main entrance gate and crashed into the side of the Sasha's building.

According to a statement from the Zapata's group, two guests were injured as a result of the accident. Here's the statement:

"Thursday Night just after midnight a car lost control on Hengshan Road and smashed through the main gates at Sasha's & Zapata's. 

"Unfortunately two guests were injured and taken for medical attention. We wish them all the best for a speedy recovery. No staff were injured."

A representative for Sasha's also confirmed to That's Shanghai that the injured guests were "fine" and that the driver only sustained "minor injuries."

There are no other confirmed casualties at this time.

As of 10am on Friday, the scene had already been cordoned off, with a tarp surrounding the entrance where the crash took place.
