What's good Disney fans? Looks like all those wishes on a star done came true, as Disney announced today that its first Mainland park in Shanghai's Pudong area will open its doors for the very first time on June 16.

Firstcomers to the new House of Mouse will be greeted with a 'magical' grand opening, so grand in fact that it will be spread over multiple days. Sources have also hinted that said opening will showcase Chinese history, adding in cultural elements tailored for Chinese audiences. So extra Mulan princesses?

A glimpse of the park's 'Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue' ride.

Located out in the hinterlands of Pudong, the enormous world-class resort will include a gargantuan park with six themed lands, not one but two themed hotels, a huge shopping, dining and entertainment district know as ‘Disney Town’ and also the Wishing Star Park.

The six themed lands will be home to such delights as Adventure Isle, Gardens of Imagination, Mickey Avenue, Tomorrowland, Treasure Cove and Fantasyland.

Last but not least is the Enchanted Storybook Castle, which will apparently be the largest of all Disney castles in the world, ever. Amen.

Chairman and chief executive officer at The Walt Disney Company, Robert A.Iger, cast his blessing out onto the newest Disney temple, “When it opens in June, Shanghai Disney resort will be a one-of-a-kind, world-class destination that is authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese. The resort reflects Disney’s legendary storytelling along with China’s rich culture, and showcases some of the most creative and innovative experiences we’ve ever created.”

Having been under construction since 2011 and employing tens of thousands from the local workforce, news of the grand opening comes as great relief to China's legions of Disney fans. If you need an idea of how popular this place is going to be, take a look at the masses of people who lined up around the block for the opening of Disney's merchandise store in Lujiazui.
