别骂你家熊孩子了！“玩泥巴”，原来也是门艺术

看，这个小女孩，

脸蛋红扑扑，身穿一件大花袄，

是不是精致可爱，栩栩如生？

她叫“梦娃”，是一件中国泥塑。

泥塑是中国传统美术品。

传说千万年前，天地初开，

神创造了日月星辰、飞禽走兽，

可大地依旧冷清，

女娲便用黄土和成泥，

照着自己的样子，捏出了许多小泥娃娃，

于是就有了最早的人类。

在民间，泥塑内涵丰富，

寄托着普通百姓朴素美好的愿望，

白泥娃娃，寓意早生贵子，小宝白白胖胖，

老虎娃娃，寓意生龙活虎，小孩健康平安。

经过历代传承与发展，

传统泥塑分为了众多流派，

惠山泥人，色彩鲜明，乡土气息浓郁，

凤翔泥塑，造型夸张，神情憨态可掬。

天津有大名鼎鼎的“泥人张”，源于清代，

至今已有一百八十余年的历史，

他的手艺号称“触手成像”，

技艺高深、惟妙惟肖。

泥塑讲述的是生活的故事，

每一件泥塑作品，

都体现着中国艺人对生活细致入微的观察，

用泥土呈现出了丰富多彩的世界。

Clay Figurines

Look, 

this red-cheek little girl in a big floral jacket. 

Isn’t she lovely? 

Her name is “Mengwa”, and she is a Chinese clay figurine.

Clay figurines are traditional Chinese artworks. 

It is said that thousands of years ago, 

after the creation of the sun, moon, stars and beasts, 

a goddess named Nüwa was still unsatisfied with the desolation, 

so she used loess and water to make many little clay figures that looked like her. 

They became the earliest humans.

As folk art, 

clay figurines have rich connotations, 

representing the simple and good wishes of common people. 

For example, 

a white clay doll implies the blessing for couples to have a cute baby while a tiger doll means the wish for kids to be healthy and strong.

Based on the techniques passed down from ancestors, 

traditional clay figurines can be divided into many schools. 

Huishan clay figurines feature the bright colors and country style. 

Fengxiang clay figurines have exaggerated shapes and cute looks. 

In Tianjin, 

the well-known “Clay Figurine Zhang” originated from the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 180 years. 

He is praised for his expressive deftness to sculpt lifelike figures.

The clay figurines tell the stories of life.
