Cat Moriko's Happy Ending!

Every year, ICVS helps many rescue animals become healthy, happy, adoptable pets! We are delighted to share with you cat, Moriko's, amazing journey to healing and finding a forever home!

Moriko was found in a park on July 9, 2020 by a kind rescuer who immediately took him to ICVS due to his lethargic state and inability to eat or go to the toilet. He was a timid, stray cat who was most likely once a house-cat who was abandoned. After a thorough evaluation, ICVS found that Moriko had significant skin wounds on his genital and rectal areas including maggots feeding on his necrotic tissue. These issues required surgery and a one-month period of hospitalization for intensive treatment.

Thanks to the help of the community and everyone who donated and to Moriko's rescuer who raised funds for the surgery and hospitalization, Moriko received the essential medical care he needed. From rescue until after surgery, Moriko stayed at ICVS for one month to receive continued wound treatment and to ensure he was healing properly. Once Moriko started to feel better, everyone could see his gentle and affectionate personality shine through; he became more relaxed and trusting and very affectionate.

Soon enough, Moriko found his forever family who loves him very much. They are now enjoying a happy and sweet life together. ICVS is proud to have helped Moriko begin a healthy life and to find a loving home; we look forward to helping more pets find their forever adoption families!
