Keep your kids engaged and close-by this summer, while giving them the opportunity to get outdoors, make friends, have fun, and learn. The Hutong, China’s most sought after experiential education provider has planned out a month of fun Shanghai city-based programs during the upcoming summer holidays and weekends. Both non-residential and residential camps are on offer.
These getaways are an opportunity to safely bust out of physical isolation and re-connect with nature on the Chongming and Changxing Islands. Situated in Shanghai-city, these beautiful islands are only a short drive from the center of the city and offer you the chance to replace Tiger King with cycling through winding paths in gorgeous wetlands or kayaking with friends or family.

Connect in the great outdoors
Just 1.5 hours outside of Shanghai, Chongming has plenty of opportunities for family adventures. Explore a protected wetlands park, visit a local farm to try your hand at harvesting fruit and veggies, learn to make your own "Chongming cakes", BBQ under the stars, and get silly with our Lawn Games challenge! Suitable for all ages.

Rural adventure on two wheels
Not just for kids, we've also planned excursions for an adult crowd! Explore Chongming Island from the seat of a mountain bike. It’s over 40km of cycling and good old-fashioned bonding. Sounds like a lot? Don’t worry, we’ll be stopping at several points along the way, including local farms, eco-villages, and a night of camping.

Action-packed island getaway
Participants will enjoy a non-stop weekend adventure on beautiful Changxing Island. They will camp under the stars, challenge themselves on a high ropes course, learn kayaking and SUP basics on the lake, and compete in our "Lawn Games" challenge! Our overnight stay on Changxing Island is suitable for kids ages 11-14.

Explore the countryside
Leave the skyscrapers behind as we head into the serene landscapes of Chongming Island. From cycling excursions, camping under the stars, BBQs, and eco-tours, Chongming Island offers an adventurous weekend escape from the city for teens aged 14-17.
