写作课的optional homework项目
各位亲爱的学员,大家都知道咱们优妈妈在线教育的写作班是一个非常有特色的小组课,我们的BASSI老师也是一位非常富有经验的老师,她深抓每个学员的特点,为每个班级设计特色课程计划,让每一堂课都非常生动,非常有内容。我们在上一期对我们的写作课做了一些说明,具体可点击以下链接:
从中我们可以看出老师的用心。现在,我们对写作课启动了optional homework项目,这是一个不存在老师强行布置的写作任务,适用于有需要完成额外写作任务,积级提高自己写作水平的孩子们。计划如下:
Optional Projects
Grade 2, Unit 1: The Writing Process
Pick your own: You can always pick your own topic for any of the extra homework projects. You are also free to choose from one of the topics below.
Write a short story where the main characters are animals.
Write a story about a family.
Write a paragraph about a day at school.
Grade 2, Unit 2: Descriptive Writing
Pick your own: You can always pick your own topic for any of the extra homework projects. You are also free to choose from one of the topics below.
Write a descriptive paragraph about one of the rooms on your home.
Write a descriptive paragraph about a pet you have or an animal that you’ve seen on TV/in a movie/in a book.
Write a descriptive paragraph about a meal that you have had.
Grade 3, Unit 1: The Writing Process
Pick your own: You can always pick your own topic for any of the extra homework projects. You are also free to choose from one of the topics below.
Write a story about traveling to a new place or set in a different country.
Write a story about a dream.
Write a story using the writing prompt: When I was in kindergarten… (Your story can begin with this sentence or be used to inspire your story)
Grade 3, Unit 2: Descriptive Writing
Pick your own: You can always pick your own topic for any of the extra homework projects. You are also free to choose from one of the topics below.
Write a descriptive paragraph about a new place that you visited.
Write a descriptive essay about a zoo, aquarium, or special park that you’ve been to.
Write a descriptive paragraph or essay about a holiday meal with your family.
Grade 4, Unit 1: The Writing Process
Pick your own: You can always pick your own topic for any of the extra homework projects. You are also free to choose from one of the topics below.
Write a story about someone with a special job/your dream job.
Write a story about something happening to the Earth.
You walk into your house and it’s completely different — furniture, decor, all changed. It doesn’t look like the same house anymore. And nobody’s home.

KongFu Tiger
I am a tiger in the great forest of Vietnam. Slippery as an eel, sly as a fox, and fierce as a warrior, these are what humans describe me. In fact, I’m just a KongFu tiger, wanna learn something about combating. Just mimic my fighting ways:
1.Falcon punch (if you’re an animal, try use your paws): Plunge yourself to the enemy. Yell loudly, “Falcon punch!!!”, and punch your enemy(don’t need to use much strength). The enemy will either be knocked out(because of your yelling) or will knock you out(because he ignore your yelling and punch). What you’ll get at last (whether you’ll be a corpse or a winner)depends on your RP(人品)
2.Frigid blast:(DO THIS IN WINTER!!!) pick up a hand/paw full of snow/ice. Rush to your enemy and throw them with snow/ice. Repeat this until your enemy is covered in snow. Then drape your enemy with a thick cloth so the snow won’t melt. (Warning: if you aren’t a good shooter, you may get killed by your enemy or get yourself covered by in ice.)
老师从选材,写作的笔调(voice),用词三个方面进行分析,建议如下:

It’s so good to see that you are coming up with new ideas and writing outside of class. I am happy that you wanted to share your short story with me and I’ve given a little feedback below. Sometimes we write stories and we just want to share them with others, and sometimes we write and we want others to help make the story better. You can always share stories with me, and just let me know if you only want to share or if you would like some feedback.
I’m going to use a few of the writing traits we’ve been reviewing in class to organize your feedback:
First, IDEAS: This is a strong idea for a story and you have given specific details about the tiger’s combat style. It would be great to get some more details about how this tiger became KongFu Tiger. What was his family like? How did he learn to fight?
Second, VOICE: It seems like the tiger is a good fighter and proud of that. Sometimes it reads like a book on instructions, but try to write it more like the tiger is talking to your reader, a student or a friend (without the numbers (1,2) and parenthesis (…)(…)).
Third, WORD CHOICE: You use some strong, specific words in the story like fierce, plunge, frigid, and drape. If you are having trouble choosing between two words like hand/paw and snow/ice, feel free to pick the one that is the clearest and best expresses what you mean. Also, do you mean Kung Fu Tiger?

Our School
There are many places in our school and my favorite places are playground and library. Many students play on the playground and read in the library. PE teachers teach us sports on the playground like playing football, badminton, basketball and so on. We also can do many games on the playground. In the afternoon, some students like walking and playing there to exercise their bodies. Some students like going to the library. Because there are several thousand books in the library which covers different areas, they can know many things about the world. We study hard in our school and play fun there. Our life is happy and interesting. I love our school very much.
