Ten thousand spiritual travellers, ten thousands journeys, ten thousand Mani stones, sixty thousand minutes of heartbeats, one spiritual journey. The art exhibition HeART Mandala created by artist Yue Luping thus commenced this summer. Exactly ten thousand spiritual travellers gathered together in Lhasa to complete a the construction of a Mani mountain, built using exactly one thousand Mani stones. This construction symbolises the everlasting Mani god of Mandala.

The schedule of this event is the invitation of ten thousand people to complete this task, one section of which will travel to Lhasa together, using mobile internet and the specific app to measure their heart rate in the mountain tops. We wanted to showcase to the world these graphs, accompanying one minute of music to create an even more beautiful stone. This stone can either be a pebble extracted from the Yarlung Tsangpo river, or it can also be an virtually stone designed on the PC, hope for 10,000 people to share our heartbeat and deploy this type of art to become their own an artist, to experience the significance of this art.

The event HeART Mandala allows every attendee to become an artist, to experience its’ beauty, thus demanding their attention. As an audience, the way they process this form of artistic sincerity all varied from one another.

The friends who I wanted to attend this event all had several requirements: one of which is specifically travel related another of which is the pursue of true art. Art itself can transcend boundaries within different professions which include tourism and technology, although we used the subjects of IT and travel this time. Art can also penetrate itself into branches of other industries. As a result I believe the reason why some of my friends came along today was to study the wide ranging, extensive nature of this art.

Art can be fused with a plethora of industries to allow audiences to immerse themselves into its’ wonder. One can imagine how the founder of this event Yue Luping had diligently worked to promote the popularisation of high art. He used to push forward activites such as sleeping, swimming together in order to allow everyone, along with the artists themselves to experience art, to create art.

I hope to innovate a brand new style of artistic framework. This age of art collection should be one that is popularised towards the masses, creating a style that is befitting towards them. Art must be enjoyed among the people, whether or not it is good, mediocre or sublime, people must be the jury. As a result we are now heading towards an era of popular culture.
