Lock Cells in a Protected Worksheet
If you plan to share your spreadsheet with other users, you may want to protect it with a password to prevent others from changing, moving, or deleting data in the sheet. You can also lock or unlock specific cells that you want other users to modify.

By default, worksheet protection is for the whole sheet, which means all of the cells are locked.
1. Find the Review Tab.
2. Click Protect Sheet. In the pop-up window, enter your password and re-check it.
3. Click OK to protect the entire workbook.
1. Select the cells you (don't) want to be locked.
2. Right-click the selected area > Choose Format Cells > Go to the Protection tab.
3. Check/Uncheck the Locked button.
4. Click OK to confirm the change.
