The welfare institute has a total of 15 floors, with the living facilities area on its first and second floors. In the lobby of the first floor there is a ceiling lamp in the shape of 199 swallows and magpies, which carries the good wishes for health, happiness and longevity for the elderly living here. The logo on this wall, “Gaole Yijia,” represents the institute’s commitment to providing a wonderful place for the elderly to enjoy their leisure time.
福利院一共有十五层，生活配套区位于一到二层，一层大厅上方是由199只燕子和喜鹊构成的燕雀归巢灯，寓意生活在这里的长者健康快乐、长长久久。大厅还有一面logo墙，“高乐亦嘉”寓意为长者提供一个乐享时光的美好家园。
A Tree of Life.
The multifunctional activity area, which also serves as the dining area, is where large-scale events such as annual meetings and concerts are held to enrich the lives of the elderly. A Tree of Life has been placed here, so that the elderly can feel the vitality of nature while dining and engaging in activities.
多功能活动区同时也是就餐区，在非就餐时间，可以用来举行年会和音乐会等大型活动，丰富长者们的娱乐生活。在中庭，设置了一棵生命之树，长者在吃饭和活动时，都可以感受到大自然的生命力。
The Intelligent Elderly Care Dispatch Center on the second floor is the “brain” of the entire institute, facilitating a complete ecosystem of information terminals, information platforms and offline services. It’s a window for showcasing how technology empowers elderly care. The center provides 24-hour response service for both elderly people living in the facility and those living in nearby homes. Whenever an elderly person encounters an emergency, he/she can press the emergency call button. The big screen here will then immediately show real-time camera footage to facilitate the staff’s on-site assistance.
二楼的智慧养老调度中心相当于整个机构的大脑，它能助力打造信息终端加信息平台加线下服务的完整生态，是科技赋能养老的具体展示。这里为院内的长者和周边居家养老提供24小时响应服务，每当长者遇到突发情况，按下紧急呼叫系统，调度中心的屏幕就会立刻调取实时的监控画面，方便工作人员第一时间赶到现场处理。

The Guangming Social Welfare Institute follows the “self support” elderly rehabilitation concept which was developed overseas. In the medical rehabilitation area, professional rehabilitation therapists will conduct rehabilitation assessments, planning, and training for the elderly based on their physical conditions, utilizing specialized rehabilitation equipment as needed.
在医疗康复区，光明社会福利院借鉴国外“自立支援”的养老康复理念，专业的康复师会根据长者的身体情况和生理特点，利用专业的康复设备为长者进行康复评估、计划和训练。
The nursing area.
The nursing area spans the third to sixth floors. Among the 377 beds here, 100 are reserved to ensure the needs of elderly residents in Guangming District. It is noteworthy that the welfare institute is adjacent to the Guangming New Town Park, thus allowing the elderly living here to enjoy lush greenery just by opening the windows.
在三到六层的护理区，一共有377张床位，其中有100张政策性床位，保障了光明区户籍长者的照顾需求。值得一提的是，长者们在护理区的住所毗邻光明新城公园，住在这里，推窗见绿，老人们可以与大自然亲密接触。
As a feature of the Guangming Social Welfare Institute, the eighth floor has a specialized care area for elderly individuals with cognitive impairments. The different zones here are for therapies including family therapy, reminiscence therapy, and non-pharmacological intervention, all of which can help alleviate the elderly’s cognitive decline and soothe their emotions.
作为光明社会福利院的一大特色，福利院的八层为出现认知障碍的长者专门设置的认知症照顾专区，这些功能区的设置方便我们开展亲情疗法、怀旧疗法、非药物干预疗法，有效地缓解长者认知功能的衰退，舒缓长者的情绪。
The self-care area located on the thirteenth floor provides spacious and comfortable rooms, including single-bedroom and two-bedroom options as well as two-room suites. All the rooms are equipped with smart facilities including intercoms, whole-house smart voice control systems, inactivity alarms, fall prevention alarms and intelligent mattresses to ensure the safety of the elderly while enhancing their sense of happiness.
位于十三层的乐龄自理区，为长者提供了丰富宽敞舒适的房型，有单间两居室还有一室一厅，此外，房间内还配备了呼叫对讲系统、全屋智能语音控制系统、不活动报警系统、防跌倒报警系统，还有智能床垫等智能设备，科技和养老的深度融合，可以全方位的保证老年人的安全，也可以让老年人获得更多的幸福感和满足感。
With the goals of constructing a world-class science city and the center of northern Shenzhen in mind, Guangming District is making unremitting efforts to promote its livelihood projects with a focus on those concerning quality elderly care. The Guangming Social Welfare Institute represents a new type of welfare institute that combines technologies, smart elderly care approaches, emotional care and medical care.
