Canada boosts cooperation with Israel

Canadian governor general David Johnson makes first official visit to Israel to sign science and innovation cooperation agreements. The governor came with Dr. Alejandro Adem, the CEO & scientific director of Canadian national research organization Mitacs. President Reuven Rivlin hosted a statedinner for Johnston, who praised the strong relationship between the two countries and expressed hope for continued cooperation.

Newly studied inscription from Mosqueof Umar dated to 9th century highlights correlation between Dome of the Rock and biblical Jewish temples. Until the mid-20th century, the Muslim world considered Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock to be the successor to Jewish "Bayt al-Maqdis” — literally “The Holy Temple” that formerly stood a top the Temple Mount. Recently, Muslim clerics insist that the Dome was built by Adam thousands of years ago and there was never a Jewish shrine on temple mount.
