前言
Foreword
北京国际美术双年展（简称北京双年展）从2003年创办首届以来，至今已经成功举办了8届。在新冠疫情肆虐全球之时，“2022第九届中国北京国际美术双年展”与第24届冬季奥林匹克运动会在京同期举办，体现了中国一贯所倡导的人类生命至上，命运与共的人文精神和大国担当。本届北京双年展参展国家和地区117个，参展艺术家共573人，参展作品共计707件，是疫情期间最大规模的线下国际展览。参展作品围绕“生命之光”的主题，涵盖抗疫精神与体育精神，采用绘画、雕塑、装置、影像等多种多样的艺术表现形式，追求新颖独特、异彩纷呈的当代艺术风格，并最终获赠138件国内、国际参展作品作为组委会永久收藏，成为时下中国艺术、文化界一笔宝贵的精神财富。
Beijing International Art Biennale (Beijing Biennale for short) has been successfully held for eight sessions since its first exhibition in 2003. At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is raging over the world, the 9th Beijing International Art Biennale, China 2022 was held in Beijing at the same time as the 24th Olympic Winter Games, which embodies China's humanistic spirit and its responsibility as a major country that China has always advocated of putting human life first and sharing a common destiny. The Beijing Biennale in 2022 featured 117 participating countries and regions, with a total of 573 participating artists and 707 exhibited works, making it the largest offline international exhibition during the pandemic. The exhibited works were based on the theme of "The Light of Life", which covered the spirit of anti-pandemic and sports. Various forms of artistic expression such as painting, sculpture, installation and video were used to pursue a new, unique and wonderful style of contemporary art. The 138 pieces of domestic and international works were awarded as the permanent collection of the Organizing Committee, which became a valuable spiritual treasure in the art and culture world of China nowadays.
2019年成都成为继北京、深圳之后承办世界大学生夏季运动会的第三个中国大陆城市，也成为首个中国西部举办世界性综合运动会的城市。举办第31届世界大学生运动会，成都将秉承“成都成就梦想”的赛事文化精神，在全球抗疫的时代背景下，全力以赴为世界呈现出一场生命交融、文明互鉴的国际盛事。
In 2019, Chengdu became the third city on the Chinese mainland to host the FISU World University Summer Games after Beijing and Shenzhen, and the first city in western China to host comprehensive world games. To host the 31st FISU World University Games, Chengdu will adhere to the cultural spirit of "Chengdu Makes Dreams Come True" and make every effort to present the world with an international event where life blends and civilizations learn from each other in the context of the global fight against COVID-19.
正是基于如此背景，“北京国际美术双年展——第九届中国北京国际美术双年展捐赠作品巡展”落地成都，本次巡展由中国美术家协会、四川省文学艺术界联合会联合主办，中国文联美术艺术中心、四川省美术家协会、四川美术馆联合承办，参展作品有的歌颂生命，有的赞叹极限，有的反思命运，有的塑造灵魂，但无论是现实主义题材还是表现主义手法，无论是追忆历史还是展望未来，北京国际美术双年展全球化的文化视野和国际性的策展格局毫无疑问将为四川人民奉献一场谱写时代光谱、唤醒生命美学的视觉盛宴。
Based on such background, "Beijing International Art Biennale - Tour Exhibition of Donated Works of the 9th Beijing International Art Biennale, China" has landed in Chengdu. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the China Artists Association and Sichuan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and co-organized by the Fine Arts Center of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Sichuan Artists Association and Sichuan Art Museum. Some exhibited works celebrate life, some praise the limits, and some reflect on fate and some shape the soul. But whether realistic themes or expressionist techniques, whether reminiscing about history or looking into the future, the globalized cultural vision and international curatorial pattern of the Beijing International Art Biennale will undoubtedly provide a visual feast for the people of Sichuan, which will compose the spectrum of the times and awaken the aesthetics of life.
