2. Symptoms & Incubation Period
The incubation period (the period between exposure to an infection and the appearance of the first symptoms) is believed to be between 2-14 days, and it is now confirmed that some infected patients are not showing signs of a fever, a symptom goverments around the world have been using to screen for the pathogen.

Data statistics, as of 2020/01/25 23:00
•1377 cases confirmed
•1983 suspected ill
•39 cured
•41 confirmed deaths (40 in Hubei province, 1 in Hebei near Beijing).
The virus has now spread China-wide, except Tibet.

Official numbers state 28 infected cases in Sichuan, of which 16 in Chengdu.

Bars/ restaurants/ clubs are being asked to close from today onwards, and big banquets will not be allowed, all until futher notice. Chengdu's education authority informed to suspend classes indefinitely pending further notice.
For yours and the safety of other people, Police have been making door to door checks to see if people have returned from Wuhan. Universities are also making checks regarding the health of their students. There is currently no sign that Chengdu will be shut down.

6. What To Do if you Return to or Arrive in Chengdu from Hubei
To effectively prevent and control the current pneumonia epidemic of a new coronavirus, Sichuan Province initiated the level-1 public health emergency plan on January 24.
To keep you and your relatives healthy and safe, the following tips are suggested by the Chengdu Center for Disease Prevention & Control to those who return to or arrive in Chengdu from Wuhan or its surrounding cities

The virus itself still has a lot of unknowns that health experts are trying to figure out. It is thought at this current time most people that contract the virus will fully recover - but experts will not be able to confirm this for some time.
9. Scientists working on Possible Treatments
Shanghai scientists on Saturday suggested 30 possible treatments for pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus.
The medicines and bioactive compounds include some used to treat HIV, according to the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica and the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies.
Of the recommendations, Cinanserin has been used therapeutically since the 1970s against schizophrenia and was identified as effective on SARS.
Enzaplatovir and Presatovir are used to treat respiratory syncytial virus. Montelukast can prevent wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma.Herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine such as huzhang (knotweed) and shandougen (sophora root) are also on the list.
