New COVID-19 Cases in Chengdu Under Control

Chengdu has reported several new cases of COVID-19, almost all from people doing their quarantine after returning from abroad. All precautions have been taken, and there currently is no reason to panic. As usual, it is advised to keep exercising caution, and follow guidelines from authorities.
All cases are quarantined
- One asymptomatic infections (Nigerian national) who returned from Kenya to Guangzhou, where he under went quarantine until October 31. After being tested negative, he flew to Chengdu on that day, and self isolated himself until November 14th, when he tested positive. More information below.
- Four other asymptomatic infections (3 Chinese nationals) were quarantined after returning from abroad, and are transferred to designated hospitals for isolation treatment after tested positive.

The Jinjiang Hotel Case
On November 14, 2020, Chengdu City reported a case of imported asymptomatic infection, Nigerian national, male, 26 years old. He returned from Kenya on October 16 (flight KQ882) and arrived in Guangzhou on October 17. After the mandatory quarantine, the came back negative on October 31.
On the same day, he traveled to Chengdu (flight HU7351), where he checked-in Jinjiang Hotel for self-isolation. Chengdu Business Daily stated today that he self-isolated until November 14th (even though the usual self-isolation period is 7 days), when the nucleic acid test was positive, and he was transferred to the designated hospital for isolation treatment. The patient had no fever, cough, diarrhea and other symptoms. The CT results were normal. The serum antibody was negative for IgM and weak positive for IgG. The diagnosis was asymptomatic.
After the outbreak, the province and the city promptly launched the emergency plan. Extensive precautions were and are taken, including the lockdown of Jinjiang Hotel, contact tracing, testing, among others. As of today 8am, a total of 1476 people were tested, all tests came back negative.
Chenghua District
Yesterday the Chenghua district government announced that 55 people might have been in close contacts with a COVID infected/ source. Immediate precautions (incl. home quarantine) were taken. Today it was notified that all tests came back negative, and home quarantine measures ware removed.
