The architectural and social transformation of Beijing through the unique point of view and experience of a Venezuelan architect who has been simultaneously a witness and a protagonist of the extraordinary change and process of modernization and development in China in the last 26 years, shown in a coffee table picture book. 

Most architectural books are only for architects. That is why Antonio Ochoa-Piccardo together with his architectural studio Red House China are presenting a compilation of their projects in an interesting way for everyone to enjoy the beauty of design. 

Featuring an interview by the art and architecture critic professor Fang Zhenning.

 Antonio Ochoa-Piccardo/安东

Antonio Ochoa - Piccardo (Caracas 1956) is the first foreign architect established in Beijing after the economic opening initiated by Deng Xiaoping in 1979. 

The Venezuelan architect, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela in 1983, was first introduced to China as a child, briefly living in Beijing in his youth and coming back with his wife in 1993. 

安东先生1956年出生于委内瑞拉加拉加斯，是在中国领导人邓小平1979年经济改革开放后来北京的第一位外国建筑师。1983年毕业于委内瑞拉中央大学(Central University of Venezuela)，第一次来中国是童年，年轻时曾短暂居住在北京，1993年与妻子再次来到中国北京。

He participated with 11 of the most recognized Asian architects, among them, the Japanese Shigeru Ban (Pritzker Prize 2014) and Kengo Kuma, in the first and only Chinese project (The Commune by the Great Wall) that has won a prize in the Biennial of Venice (2002.) 

Antonio Ochoa played a fundamental role, not only as an architect of one of the houses (Cantilever House,) but also as creator of the master plan, project coordinator and supervision of the works. 

安东与11位亚洲最有名的建筑师一起参与了第一个也是唯一一个在2002年威尼斯双年展上获奖的中国项目(长城脚下的公社)，其中包括日本建筑师坂茂(Shigeru Ban, 2014年普利兹克奖[Pritzker Prize])和隈宏吾(Kengo Kuma)。

安东 (Antonio Ochoa)扮演了一个重要的角色，他不仅是“长城脚下公社--红房子”的建筑师，而且是整个项目总体规划的创造者、项目协调员和工程监督者。

As the chief architect of the real estate development company SOHO CHINA, he participated in large-scale urban projects, which in some way revolutionized the way of life in Chinese cities, stimulating a significant flow of world talent in the area of architecture and design towards China. 

In 2005 Antonio founded Red House China, a Beijing based studio with forward-thinking architecture and interior design work. 

He approaches his projects as a cohesive unit by stressing a symbiotic relationship between a building’s architecture and interior design. 

His work often results in organic forms, surprising spaces, and an affinity to introduce fun and unlikely surface materials. 

安东先生作为SOHO中国的首席建筑师，他参与了大规模的城市项目，这些项目在某种程度上改变了中国城市的生活方式，刺激了世界建筑和设计领域的人才大量流向中国。

2005年，安东在北京成立了安东红坊工作室，从事前瞻性的建筑和室内设计工作。他通过强调建筑和室内设计之间的共生关系，将他的项目作为一个有凝聚力的单元。他的作品常常以有机的形式、令人惊讶的设计空间和引入有趣而不太可能的表面材料的亲和力为结果。

Beijing Chaoyang District recognized Antonio Ochoa’s career awarding him as an International High End Business Talent 2018. 

安东先生获得北京市朝阳区2018年度“国际高端商务人才”称号。
